In the final installment of my city visits video series, I am in Washington, Indiana. Washington is a community similar to Greensburg and has access to the new I-69 corridor. Their shovel-ready dirt, just like ours, makes them a prime location for outside investors. With an advocate from City Hall and a team of people from other organizations, we can work to be at the top the list when companies are looking to relocate or expand. In addition to the ones I have shared here, I have also met with mayors or community leaders from Shelbyville, Salem, Seymour, Columbus, and Brownsburg. I have even met with home builders, engineering firms, municipal accountants, and many others from all political parties and viewpoints, because good ideas are not limited to one party. While this is the end of the series, it is not the end of reaching out and learning from others.

This week's city visit video is from Bedford, Indiana. Their Mayor has been in office for 12 years as an independent and continues to lead Bedford forward in education, community investments, and infrastructure improvements. This advocacy and engagement by Mayor Girgis have made them a model for communities our size. There isn't a lot that separates Greensburg from the cities that are held up as models. I intend to partner with others to make Greensburg the city where everyone wants to live, work, and play.

This week's city visit video is from Seymour, Indiana. They are investing in infrastructure you cannot see but rely on every day. I will be your advocate for the items you can see, but also for vital details we do not see every day.

Over the last several weeks, I have met with mayors, community leaders, and elected officials to learn what their community is doing to be a place people want to live, work, and play. Melanie Nobee is the incoming Decatur County Republican Women's Club president. Melanie believes we need a new, fresh vision for our community to help attract and retain citizens.

Mike has been involved in the community as an educator and engaged citizen for years. He understands that the city needs an advocate, to show those who do not call Decatur County home why they should. He is an advocate himself, currently representing Greensburg as the Optimist International Governor for the Southern District of Indiana. I am proud to have Mike's support for my vision for our community, along with so many others.
